Our certified flight instructor staff is dedicated
to ensuring the best training for the least possible cost. No matter
which school you choose, you must complete the following steps in order
to attain your pilot's license. 1. Pass a written test
2. Obtain a medical certificate
3. Pass an oral exam
4. Complete the required flight curriculum
5. Pass a flight test
To assist our students in passing the written and oral exams and flight
test, we use the ASA Private Pilot Flight Training Course. This
course is an interactive program designed to ensure that the student
pilot gains the knowledge needed to confidently pass all three tests.
Our certified flight instructors will review each lesson with the
student to ensure that all the material presented is mastered by the
student.
The flight curriculum is computerized and tracks the student’s progress
throughout the flight training program. Each lesson is designed to
maximize the training while minimizing the cost to the student.
We also offer an accelerated training program for the most dedicated
students. This program is designed for the student to attain his or her
ratings in the least amount of time. Please contact us for further
details as this program is tailored to accommodate each student's
individual needs and schedule.
To Begin Your Pilot Training let us help you choose the flight
instructor best suited to your personality and schedule. Once you have
an instructor, you will map out when and how often you will fly. This
will help you to estimate the total cost of your training.
When you choose your instructor, you will also
set goals for when you will take the FAA written exam and your practical
test.

While only 40 hours of flight time are required
for the private pilot certificate, the actual process takes longer due
to ground training, aircraft preflight, canceled lessons due to bad
weather, your commute time, etc.
Below is a typical private pilot chronology:
14.5 to 16 hours -- Presolo (dual)
2.0 to 5 hours -- Solo
5.0 to 7 hours -- Precross-country (dual)
5.5 to 9 hours -- Cross-country and night flying (dual)
7.0 to 8 hours -- Cross-country (solo)
7.0 to 10 hours -- Prep for flight test (dual and solo)
41.0 to 55 hours
Your pilot certificate can be obtained in as little as a month with near
full-time effort. A more realistic timeframe is 6 months, but you will
need to be patient as weather does not always cooperate with our flight
schedule.
